Thank you to our valued volunteers - including our wonderful grade parents for getting out a May calendar to you and getting on the Springfest basket so quickly! In Class, we will be looking for volunteers later this month for a Scientist in the School visit. I am waiting for confirmation of a date and can let you know more details once we have that. Typically, sessions are a full half of the day and parent volunteers run an activity area under the scientists instruction. If we happen to get more than 4 volunteers we simply draw names...stay tuned! Thanks as always to those able to make it to the Sharing Assembly on Thursday to help celebrate Caesar, Jessica, and Neve as well as for Pizza Day on Friday. Go team!
This week we continued to work on our paper mâché planets, getting them painted with our buddies on Wednesday and starting to think about the features we will give them. I made wooden stands to mount them on (my husband and power tools helped!) so that each planet can stand up and the kids were pretty excited to see their work! We have a few more things to do and think about and then we will put our work on display in the hallway and invite you to come and see!
Scholastic orders were sent on Friday for the month of May, deadline for online ordering or returning orders to me will be Tuesday, May 1. The dental hygienist did not see us this past week so I expect we will be called sometime next week. Also beginning this week, we would like to invite you to send any foreign money you may have around the house for us to study and look at as we begin a unit on money. Coins or bills in a clear ziploc baggie with your child's name on it would be perfect so we can get them back to you. Thanks in advance!
