Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. Coming in June will be Springfest - our annual LKS fun fair extravaganza - and an event that simply couldn't take place without our great volunteers! If you would like to help out (there are many different volunteer opportunities) keep an eye on your parent emails. You can also help out by supporting the events at Springfest such as the tombola game and the silent auction with your donations. Your child brought home a letter explaining the "tombola" idea on Friday, feel free to send in as many as you wish. Garden themed items to go in our Springfest class basket (for auction to the highest bidder) can be sent in to class also. Money raised from these ventures goes back into our school to fund technology, instruments, athletics, scientists, artist visits and more.
Thank you to those who were around on Friday morning and able to help welcome Aranya and her family to LKS and our classroom. We all know how much work a move is and how stressful it can be when it involves changes for our kids! Take a moment when you can, introduce yourself and the sea of strangers faces becomes a few less. Many thanks!
COME ON IN with your child and visit our space exhibit in the hallway! Our exhibit will open AFTER school on Monday and your child will be the expert. We have a lot of our space thinking on the hallway bulletin board and our paper mâché planets as well. We would like to invite you to come by and look at your child's work this week as the planets (complete with your child as the astronaut) will go home the following week. A reminder, however, you may only visit specifically the hallway area as the classroom itself continues to be used for the B and A daycare program both immediately before and after school. Thank you!
Many thanks for the great collection of foreign money that is coming in...the kids are having fun looking at and comparing all of it. We will continue with this for several more weeks. In science we will be looking at magnets and our scientist, coming later in the month (date TBA), will continue on this thread. The children are all thoughtfully working on a Mother's Day craft to bring home on Friday also so please let me know if they will be absent and we will make adjustments to get it to you! (The fates were smiling on me three weeks ago when I bought the supplies and got 28 instead of 27...thank goodness!)
