Thank you as always to our valued volunteers! Thanks also to the many of you who came out to share your child's enthusiasm for learning and the work they do each day in the classroom on our Open House night. It was a very full room but it certainly looked and sounded like everyone was enjoying the evening! This week we look forward to seeing our awesome parent community out at the Sharing Assembly on Thursday morning. The TDSB character trait for April is cooperation and we will recognize Jessica, Neve and Caesar for learning to be mindful of cooperating with peers or teachers in many capacities as we make our way around the school building. Well done!
Thanks to everyone for sending in newspapers, our grade 6 buddies brought some also and the paper mâché was completed Wednesday morning with many a squeal about to goop (grade 6 and kindergartens) and a lot of clean up! The globes are drying to harden - Mrs. Young (who takes our class outside twice a week) has generously offered space in her room away from pokey, prying fingers - and this week we will be painting them - CLOTHING note - PAINT on Wednesday! Our buddies will once again be helping us as the kids decide what colour their planet is going to be. Afterward they will need several days to dry again before the finishing touches go on and we can display them.
Dental hygienists will be in the school, as they always are once per year, this coming week. We will be called down to simply open wide and have our teeth looked at. If everything is as it should be in your child's mouth you will hear nothing further but if a visit to your dentist is recommended to deal with an issue you will receive a note home with your child directly from the hygienists. It takes seconds per child and isn't threatening in any way.
