Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. This past week we saw our Springfest donations come together as an attractive and hopefully enticing basket of superhero treasures that will stir up bidders at the annual Springfest auction. Thank you to everyone who helped by sending in great donations and Tara who collected and wrapped everything. The kids enjoyed seeing it all done up!
If you are new to our LKS family, Springfest is a great event that kids and parents enjoy. Basically our school grounds and some classrooms are used for the auction, games, crafts, animals, food etc for your family to enjoy. Families purchase tickets at the beginning of their day and use the tickets just as you would at the CNE. Last year even brought wristbands for play all day fun! A lot of organizing and behind the scenes effort goes into any event such as this so try to get out and support your school on May 7.
Gently used books and stuffed animals for use at Springfest may be donated this week as well. You can drop your items just by the office door in the main foyer area. Thanks!
Attendance has been spotty for the last few weeks with kids in and out for ear infections, coughs and strep throat. Please remember to keep your child home or make alternate arrangements if they are ill. Children coughing all day and unwell only spreads the germs and sure doesn't make for an enjoyable day for them! It is a 6 hour day, a long time for anyone under the weather, never mind going in and out and doing work! We can only hope a good long spell of dry warm weather is coming to banish all the germs!
This week we look forward to our Sharing Assembly celebrating Veronica and Julian for co-operation. Well done! Our Scientist comes Friday morning to show us more about simple machines and author Chad Solomon will see us Friday afternoon, woohoo! Pizza day is also Friday! Get set for another busy week boys and girls!
The week looks like:
Monday - Music PM
Tuesday - Mailbags, Mystery Reader PM
Wednesday - LIB/IT PM
Thursday - Sharing Assembly 9:00
Friday - Scientist AM, Pizza Lunch, Author Visit PM (no Lib/IT), Mailbags
Have a great week everybody!
Ms.I.
