Week of November 3 - 7

Thank you as always to our valued volunteers!  This week not only did we have our mailbag books changed but our great volunteers helped make a Halloween party enjoyed by all.  Thank you to the grade parents for organizing and to those who helped out in class or sent treats to share, the kids had a great time!  It was wonderful to see so many of you at the parade also, what a busy day!

The Terry Fox wrap up assembly was quite something to watch this week!  Thanks to those who were able to help out by finding something blue for your child to wear.  Again, sometimes these kind of requests for specific clothing are last minute but your grade parents and I will try to get it out to you as quick as we can!  The older children use agendas and parents check nightly for these kind of reminders or happenings...we aren't ready for that in Kindergarten!

TRIP FORMS are due to class on MONDAY and I will be choosing the three volunteers from those forms I have received.  Remember please, even if your child will NOT be attending the trip, I require you to send back the "NO" portion of the permission slip so that each child is accounted for.

The November Scholastic book orders will be sent home with your child on Tuesday in the mailbag.  Orders should be returned to me by Friday, November 7.  Thank you!

Our school interview booking site is open for you; follow the instructions sent in your grade parent bulletin to choose your time.  Once the site closes you can no longer log in.  I look forward to chatting about your child!  Seniors will bring their formal reports home next week, on Monday, November 10.

This month we will be spending some time talking about Remembrance Day in class.  Each class makes a wreath to be presented at the Remembrance Day assembly and any children involved in Sparks or Beavers are welcome to wear their uniforms on November 11 to the assembly.  While it is solemn and a lot beyond the kindergarten comprehension there are ways to bring meaning to this important day.  The children do not need graphic details, just an understanding of a loss and an appreciation for all we have.  Understanding the celebrations and traditions of our country is important for everyone.

This week we will continue to see Ms. McGee on Library and Computer days but have not been given the all clear to be back in the computer lab itself.  As soon as we have, we will resume computer classes and our volunteer schedule.  Thank you for your understanding!

This week:

Tuesday - Music, LIB for Day 5 kids
Wednesday - Mystery Reader a.m.

Have a great week!
