Thank you as always to all of our valued volunteers - mailbag helpers, party helpers, mystery readers, pizza lunch helpers, scientist and trip volunteers...look how much we've done this year and how much you've all helped out! Thank you, thank you! We all have our amazing grade parents Tara and Catherine to thank for keeping us organized the whole year through and channeling information - I will miss them!
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Sharing Assembly this morning. The kids have all done so well in their character trait development; as well as developing a comfort level for being in front of a crowd. Not everyone likes that feeling of being on display but everyone has learned to tolerate it in small doses! Our Kindergarten Sharing Assemblies are one of Ms. Caddel's favourite things to watch and do, we will miss her there and of course wish her nothing but luck in her new school. We welcome Mr. Currie in September and look forward to what he will bring to LKS. He and I (and Mrs. Burn!) started out at the same school in Rexdale so many hears ago!! What a small world!
Mailbags will not have any more readers, I ask you to look around if you have books outstanding and send them in as soon as you can. Poetry books were sent home today with our last poem fittingly called "This Fabulous Year". You no longer need to return poetry books! Read and reread, sing and remember the year through our poems! They too remind us how busy we have been, the kids counted the poems a few weeks ago and there were 53...wow!
Reports will go home on Monday with all students. In Kindergarten we are using the new "Communication of Learning" format and expectations. For those of you with older children who have been through the Kindergarten program, you will notice larger boxes which allow more fluency when writing about the children and new headings for the boxes. The children leaving us for Grade 1 will have their new room and teacher identified in the last box. There is still a comment box for parents if you wish to comment and return the page to me. No need to return any envelopes this term! JK students, other than our wonderful Zoya and Sofia who are moving away - we will miss you terribly! - will be back in our class in September.
Our last week looks like this:

Ms.I.
