Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. Ms. Caddel needed to postpone the volunteer coffee and muffin from Thursday, June 8 to Wednesday, June 14. We all bake and buy the muffins as a small token of appreciation for all the great volunteers we have, hope you can make it out Wednesday morning! In turn, if you helped out in any way with the "Teacher Appreciation" lunch on Tuesday - thank you! The food was such a wonderful treat and the tables looked lovely with their beautiful flowers. Well done and so appreciated!
We had four caterpillars in chrysalis to watch over this week - we were so concerned for one little guy whose chrysalis fell down but we laid it in the tank and crossed our fingers...this afternoon a butterfly emerged! It appears to be fine and we hope the other three will do as well when it is their turn. I put some leaves and gatorade in the tank as the instructions say and maybe we will get back on Monday to find all four have emerged! You are welcome to pop in Monday morning before school to have a look, I'll leave the door open. If they have emerged by Monday we will release them before home time to ensure they don't damage their wings in the tank.
You may have seen us all walking back up from the shale pit this afternoon immediately before dismissal. Your child can tell you we were practising our school evacuation plan which means everyone leaves the building and property in an orderly and supervised manner and heads to the shale pit to wait for further instructions. We did well, although the kids were disappointed not to be able to play at the park!!! We'll have to see if we can plan a time to get to play there with our buddies one morning before the year finishes. The kids would also like to have a teacher vs students soccer game, they kindly promised not to run too fast as they are quite worried that poor old Ms. I. can't keep up...cheeky monkeys!!
