Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. I hope you were able to make it out to the coffee/muffin morning and enjoy a treat! All you do at LKS is very much appreciated!
This week will be our last full week of school and our last week of mailbag readers. A mailbag book will go OUT with your child on Tuesday, provided they have returned the previous one, then come back for Friday as usual but NO books will be sent home Friday - that will give us four days to track down missing books before we leave for the summer! I cannot believe the year is over, wow, that is crazy!
On that note, let me recap the Graduation and Pizza Day information as I have had several questions this week...
Graduation is Wednesday, June 28 at 1:45, please wait outside our back door so that you have direct entrance and Mrs. Shakespeare doesn't have to buzz everyone in! Graduation is primarily for our SK parents and families since these are the children leaving the program. I have several JK students leaving this year as they are moving away, we hope to see them there as well! I will be moving the furniture to set up chairs and ask that you let me know how many will be attending from your family so that seating will be available. Unfortunately there won't be room for strollers inside the class but they shouldn't be left in the playground as the other classes will still have outdoor play time; nor in the hallway - that is a fire code hazard! You may leave strollers inside the front main doors by the stairs. Thank you! For those of you new to the world of Kindergarten Grad, the class video I make from our pictures over the year is available to everyone, JK and SK. I will let you know when my IT department (read husband and son) get it posted and where, so that you have access to it AFTER the grad ceremony.
Pizza Lunch is Thursday, June 29 and IT IS IN THE PARK. The entire school goes down to the park to eat pizza at 11:30 and stays there until 12:30 lunch end as usual. Parents and families sit together and we make an effort to have the class sit somewhat together - considering families may have several children in various grades and classes! EACH child is either WITH a parent (you or a designate that you can LET ME KNOW you have given permission to) or our lunch supervisor Ms.
Joy. ALL children must be ACCOMPANIED as the teachers do not stay in the park the whole time. If you are unable to make it please let me know WHO will be responsible for your child - either another parent or Ms. Joy so that I know they are all safe and accounted for!
This Friday will be our last Sharing Assembly of the year, 9:00 in the gym. We celebrate the character trait of perseverance and recognize our Rumaisa, Stuart, and Teoman for learning to persevere in different ways with different challenges but all good results! Well done! Hope to see you there.
Our week looks like:
Monday - Reading Buddies AM, Mystery Reader PM
Tuesday - Last mailbag book OUT
Wednesday - Music AM
Thursday - Mystery Reader AM
Friday - ALL mailbag books in please, Sharing Assembly 9:00
The class is still visiting the library but not taking OUT books. If your child has a book due - there were notices sent in the Friday mailbag - please return it as soon as possible so Ms McGee can continue to log in and assess the books in preparation for closing down and being ready for September! You may imagine one lost book is no big deal, we are actually looking for over 400!!! books from students all across the grades. Each book not replaced depletes the library for the next year so please look around and send them in! Thank you!
We are very thankful to Zoya and Kristina for their generous donations to the class this week! Our Zoya donated the most beautiful Indian dress and scarf for our home center and the kids are loving wearing it. It twirls fantastically and is very golden and beautiful! Kristina and her family donated books to the class on our last Scholastic order and they have been well used! Thank you, thank you!
Have a great week!
Ms. I.
