Thank you as always to our valued volunteers, we love having you! Pizza lunch was a great ending to the week, the kids are always so excited about it and always seem so much hungrier!
Many thanks to everyone for the "Movember" donations on Friday. The moustaches didn't last long, a little too tickly and not enough sticky but we helped out and that's the main thing!
We are deep into graphing...sorting information using a common attribute such as colour, shape, likes, dislikes, age etc etc and organizing the data into an easily understood visual. We aim to introduce the proper math vocabulary at all times so for graphing we talk about -
Data - the information collected
Results - what happened, what did you find out

One of the most common misunderstandings with children is that graphs have winners and losers. We try to discourage this idea as the data is just the data, it can't win or lose. You can see many examples of all the different ways we have graphed on our hallway bulletin board. Well done kids!
The November Sharing Assembly will be this Wednesday at 9:00. As I said previously, we will celebrate both Matthew and Everett for their amazing show of empathy at school among their peers. They consistently do a great job! Ms. McGee will be conducting all of the children in an instrumental performance they have been learning and practising with her during music class. Not to be missed!!! We thank her for her time and energy and hope to see you there!
This week looks like:
Monday - Mystery Reader AM
Tuesday - Mailbags, Day 3 LIB/IT PM
Wednesday - Sharing Assembly 9:00, Reading Buddies AM, Mystery Reader PM
Thursday - Mailbags, Day 5 LIB/IT AM
Friday - PA Day, teachers at ETFO conference/workshops
I can't believe it is December this week, incredible! Keep an eye out in the next little while for grade parent emails regarding Stonegate Community Centre donation baskets. This is an annual tradition at LKS. Each class is assigned a family to buy for and suggested sizes/ages/necessary items to include in our gift basket. We aim to give a family who needs some extra help a wonderful example of the kindness in people's hearts by filling the hamper to the brim! What a wonderful lesson for the kids to learn and amazing thing for them to see come together. Stay tuned for details...
This is a busy time of year and some of you may be planning vacations away from school around the holidays. Please BE SURE to let your grade parents know if your child will be away so they can organize the leader calendar without disruptions. Thank you!
Have a great week!
