Week of November 14 - 18

Thank you as always to our valued volunteers!  Thank you to our fabulous grade parents and everyone who made Nolan and his family so welcome, as a newcomer to Lambton myself (14 years ago now!!) I can say that our community takes "community" seriously and does a fabulous job of welcoming people in.  You can be as involved as you choose, but the invitation is always there!

Senior Kindergarten Progress Reports will go home on Monday.  Interviews will take place throughout the week with ALL parents, Jk and Sk to let you know of their progress.  Some of you missed the online sign-up for interview times and will have to come and see me directly to set up your interview.  For those who did sign-up, a confirmation note with the LOCATION of your interview was sent in the Mailbag on Friday.  Since our classroom is permitted and used by the daycare, if you have chosen a BEFORE or AFTER school time your interview will take place in the office area - either the small consultation room by Mrs. Shakespeare's desk or the round table behind her desk.  The exception is Thursday evening when the program will move out and we will be interviewing IN our classroom.  All interviews are ten minutes and back-to-back with other parents or teaching time so thank you in advance for being mindful of your start and finish times. Ms. Mosun and I look forward to meeting with you all!

Friday was our school Remembrance Day Assembly.  So well done! All of the children were very respectful and suitably attentive to the proceedings.  They enjoyed seeing our wreath (everyone helped in making the pieces and putting it together) being carried forward and our classmates in their uniforms walking in the colour guard.  Ms. Barry is new to our school this year as a music teacher and she did a lovely job putting together the event.  I'm glad so many of you had the opportunity to attend!

A reminder about LUNCH attendance - it has come up that children who have been absent for the morning session of class are being dropped off over the lunch hour to the lunch room supervisors.  This is not acceptable!
You MUST sign your child in AT the OFFICE before joining the class to be properly accounted for in the attendance system. The lunch hour is VERY busy with most children staying and if your child is not recorded as being at school we would not be looking to account for them! A dangerous situation!
If you pick up or drop off your child AT REGULAR entry and dismissal times (11:20 and 12:35)
there is NO need to sign in or out but ANY other time is A MUST as the attendance has been taken
and sent to the office.  Thanks!

This week looks like:
Monday - Interviews, Reports go home, Day 3 LIB/IT PM
Tuesday - Interviews, Mailbags, Reading Buddies AM, Mystery Reader PM
Wednesday - Interviews, Day 5 LIB/IT AM
Thursday - Interviews, *Mailbag, Music AM

Have a great week!
Ms. I.
