All of a sudden May is here...wow, what a quick year!
Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. As well as our regular volunteer spots; it is always great to see how smoothly things like Pizza Day run with all of your help! Well done!
The kids enjoyed a great Earth Day with the Reptilia visit and are super conscientious about taking care of our wonderful Earth and everything on it. We now bring our class garbage can outside at most play times as someone is always on "litter patrol" and we have learned what items from our lunches can be recycled to cut down on the amount of unnecessary garbage in that can each day. Well done!
Our wonderful Reading Buddies (Mr. Littlejohn's grade 6's) helped us cut and paste the continents onto our globes this week and were rewarded with gummy worm treats for all their hard work and patience. I hope all the globes made it safely home, the kids were very proud of themselves and were looking forward to sharing with their families. Again, well done!
It looks like May is shaping up to be just as busy as April was with many great things happening in the class and around the school. Be sure to note special happenings like Aussie Rules Football (!!) and our artist visit on the class calendar to be sure your child is dressed appropriately. I will let our awesome grade parents in on these dates as well as the children so you will have several calendars to refer to.
Congratulations again to our co-operation certificate recipients Julian, Jordyn, Adam and Abby for a job well done. Our next Sharing Assembly will be Wednesday, May 20 at 9:00 to recognize the character trait of Integrity.
