Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. This week we will change the mailbag readers on Tuesday but simply collect them back in on Thursday and NOT send a new one as it would be with you for whole break. I will sort out new sets for after the break.
Remember to check the Brentwood Library if you are looking for things to do over March Break, as well, the Toronto Public Library site has games and online reading available all the time and free of charge. Having always done March Break in the city with my own children when they were younger, I know we are very lucky to have a great many things to do if you are around the city. Some of my favourite places - the ROM, the Science Centre, Reptilia and the zoo - can be extra busy during this break, but making a day of it adds to the fun. Going on an adventure on the subway, not really having a destination makes a fun day. Union station is fun to get off at and snoop around, College station with the wall murals is fun, so is a streetcar ride! The Hockey Hall of Fame for the sports enthusiasts, an afternoon of carnival rides and dare I say it...fast food treats at the Woodbine Centre, public skating somewhere, and on and on. Good times and good memories.
Friday morning will be the recording date for O Canada. Please make sure your child's permission form is in and BOTH sections are marked - permission for video and audio. Without a form your child WILL NOT be able to participate. We have been practicing in the class using the video from www.FlagofCanada.ca/practice which you can access at home also. We sound great!
It will be fun!
There will be some construction taking place in the library Tuesday and Wednesday this week and Ms. McGee's classes will be in Room 157 instead. The children will not be able to change books on Tuesday - this is the Day 5, yellow square group.
This week:
**Remember the clocks change Saturday night, springing ahead an hour. The school clocks will be
manually changed Monday morning meaning the first entry bell may be a bit off!
Monday - Mystery Reader PM
Tuesday - Music AM, LIB/IT PM (no book change)
Wednesday - Mystery Reader AM, Ms. I. at workshop in the PM Mrs. Bateson in class
Thursday - LIB/IT AM, No mailbag books sent home
Friday - Reading Buddies AM, O Canada recording PM
Next week...March Break!
Our March Sharing Assembly will be Tuesday, March 24 at 9:00 to celebrate the character trait of honesty. We talk about this quality in class quite often - it comes up when things go missing, get broken or are left untidy and the mythical creature "nobody" did it! We celebrate Dhevan, Reese and
Siena for their efforts and consistency in being honest in the class each day.
Have a great week, Ms. I.
