Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. Our mailbag volunteers have been sending books from new sets for both JK and SK readers. If you come across books from older sets or even library books that you have already paid for, don't hesitate to send them in! Another pizza day went smoothly on Friday, also thanks to our volunteer helpers. Well done! Watch for your grade parents to ask for volunteers for a "Scientist In The School" visit at the end of the month. Typically the scientist will request 4 or 5 volunteers to run activity centres that the kids rotate through (I will get this information from her closer to the date) just like our craft parties. As in the case of trips or any special events where we may get more volunteers than are needed, I will put all the names in a hat for the children, they will pull out however many we need and we'll let you know. The Scientist in the School program is great, they serve students throughout the grades with excellent curriculum related material. They bring everything the children will need and pack a great deal of information into a half day session. We are very fortunate that this program is valued at LKS and our awesome Parent Council pays for the sessions with monies raised from all your generous donations. Thank you, thank you! Take a moment and look them up if you have never heard of them before.
We continue with both our planet inquiry and our spring inquiry...we inquire about a lot on a daily basis! While we don't look at the religious aspects of the Easter holiday, we do consider how the link of eggs and bunnies to spring began and the Easter Bunny may even pay us a visit, you never know!
Please keep the newspapers coming for our project. Ms McGee is graciously bringing us papers as well. The last day to send any will be Monday, April 13, as I will need to cut them into strips and we will use them on Tuesday, April 14.
