Thank you as always to our valued volunteers! Your fabulous grade parents are working on a February calendar and despite it being the shortest month of the year it is packed with special happenings...be sure to look carefully at what is happening in the class and what your child needs to be prepared!
The schedule of when to send in your child's 100's Day collection was sent home on Thursday. If you need to swap days due to absences, feel free but please don't just add your child to a particular day as it becomes too long for the children to sit and listen to each other. I will keep the collections as they come in, until Friday, so we can view them and then I will send them all home on Friday, February 6. We look forward to seeing them, the kids are usually very eager to share what they brought!
**Please note these collections are different from the 100 items brought in for snack on Friday, February 6 for sharing. These small items become one of the snack treats for 100's day. A compilation of small items (jelly beans, chocolate chips, cheerios, shreddies, goldfish, pretzels, mini marshmallows, raisins etc etc) that the children bring in that day get tipped into a big bowl - counting as we go - then we use a cup to scoop out a serving and enjoy the mix! Remember - no nuts please!
We continue to battle the flu/fever/cough THING that is living in our class! There were 11 children away on Thursday for assorted ailments! Thank you thank you for keeping them home when they are ill! At school we ask the children to cough into their ELBOWS not hands to try and keep the germs from passing hand to hand. We send children who suck their thumbs and fingers or "touch" their noses to wash their hands immediately. We ask that they wash or sanitize their hands after blowing their noses and we NEVER share snack. Still the germs survive and thrive. ICK!
