Week of June 9 - 13

Thank you as always to our valued volunteers!  You should have received an invitation to our annual Lambton Volunteer Tea in your child's backpack on Thursday. It will be held Tuesday, June 24 in the library, 8:10 to 8:45.  This is a small token of appreciation for your time in our classrooms - changing books, helping at parties, on scientist day, and of course our great grade parents! All are welcome!

Welcome this week and from here on to our new fall 2014 JK families!  For the existing JK's you would have received a letter on Thursday informing you that your child remains in the same class for their SK year, outlining Open House times - JK and SK are different  - and start date, all SK's start at 8:45 Wednesday, September 3.  Each new student was mailed their information including teacher, start date, blog access and Open House times.  Welcome, welcome! The class has 30 all day JK and SK students scheduled to attend!

LIBRARY - Ms McGee is looking for ALL library books to be returned this week.  The children will continue to go to the library for the remaining few weeks but will NOT bring books home.  The library is being prepared for inventory and year end tidying, a big job as you can imagine!  If you find one you have previously paid for, drop her a line and she will return your funds.  By the same token if you cannot find one - the overdue reminders will be coming this week - please send your fee marked with your child's name on it for Ms. McGee.  Books are typically $5 for paperback and $10 for hardback or non-fiction. Any questions can be directed to Ms.McGee.

PIZZA LUNCH - The pizza order forms will come home this week, please pay attention to the order cut-off date to avoid disappointment.  If you don't wish to have pizza that is NO problem, simply bring your lunch of choice on the day.  A reminder that each child must have an adult parent or caregiver responsible for them over the lunch hour.  School times remain the same for the day, morning dismissal is 11:20 and afternoon start is 12:35.  The classroom is closed over the lunch hour so washrooms available are in the primary hall.  Older students may return to the schoolyard after eating and have lunchroom supervisors on duty.  Kindergarten children do not have supervisors and should not be in the main schoolyard or kindergarten yard.

Our last Sharing Assembly will be next week.  We celebrate the character trait of perseverance and will be awarding certificates to Madeline and Emily in the morning as well as Sophia and Saaya in the afternoon.  Well done everyone, perseverance in a task is hard to muster sometimes when there is a room of activities just waiting!
