Thank you as always to our valued volunteers. The morning class enjoyed having help at their Spring Craft party and the afternoon class is looking forward to their party on Tuesday. Our great grade parents have started the ball rolling on the Springfest auction baskets also, many thanks to those who have already sent in something to add. For those of you new to Lambton; Springfest is a great event that generates many dollars for the many extras that your children enjoy here at LKS and the kids enjoy the day immensely. If you have the opportunity to help out or volunteer some time on the day it's a lot of fun. Keep an eye on Parent Council emails or ask your grade parents for further Springfest information.
Thanks to those who participated in the Student Council "wear pink" day and/or Terry Fox anniversary day. This week our social awareness club "The Seeds of Hope" will be participating in a vow of silence to raise awareness and money for children who have no "voice" in their circumstances due to poverty, race, religion or sex. They will not be speaking, texting, emailing etc etc for 24 hours and have asked that we wear BLACK on Thursday and bring any amount of change/money we would like to donate to support their cause. Donations will be collected on Thursday.
We continue with fire drill and lockdown practices this week. The children have done well!
Wednesday afternoon there will be an "Earth Rangers" presentation for primary students. You can check them out at www.earthrangers.com The presentation is a kickoff for Earth Week and Earth Day which is next week. We ask that everyone wear GREEN on Tuesday, April 22 for Earth Day.
Looking forward to next week, our April Sharing Assembly will take place on Friday and celebrate the character trait of Co-operation. We will recognize Laiken and Nicholas in the morning as well as Rowan who was ill on the March assembly day and Natalia and Dhevan from the afternoon class. Well done everybody!
