This week we enjoyed our sharing assembly gathering, congratulations again to Abby, Jack and Scott, well done. Chinese New Year began on Friday and we enjoyed watching the Dragon Dance from Hong Kong - acrobatic and wonderful to watch. The kids really enjoy learning about other cultures and widening their circle of understanding. This is a theme that continues throughout their school years and hopefully becomes part of who they are.
With Groundhog Day falling on the weekend, homework was to find out what the weather prediction turns out to be...in case after our most recent dumping of snow we cant guess...bleck!
Movie Night forms and Scholastic orders were sent home this week, both are due back by Friday, February 7 please.
Classroom Open House will be held this week - Thursday, February 6 from 8 - 8:45 AM for BOTH classes to attend. Feel free to drop in and see our work, our Smartboard in action and chat casually! We would love to see you. As I said previously, JK Summary reports will come home Monday, February 10. While the second term is typically a time for interviewing students with significant changes or challenges in their academic performance, you may sign up using the online registration for interviews. If you miss the window for the site you will need to contact me directly to book. Alternatively, if I have not requested an interview with you , all is well!
Our 100th day celebration will be on Monday, February 10 but please remember we would like to have your child's collection in class THIS FRIDAY. If you are participating in the "snack mix" - sending 100 small edible things such as teddies, goldfish, marshmallows, pretzels, fruit loops etc etc that we will mix together and serve each child a cup of - please label the bag as SNACK or do not send it with your child until Monday the 10th.
