I sincerely hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend with good food, family and friends! The weather cooperated for the most part and in our house lots of time was spent in the dog park, the cars were given a good washing and the garden was tidied. The house was full, food and kids were aplenty giving us lots to be thankful for.
As always, thank you to our volunteers! This will be a short week, meaning small reading books will come home Tuesday and Friday. Both classes will be using their library periods to visit the Book Fair this week - AM class on Tuesday and PM class on Thursday. No library books will be exchanged, however if you wish to send money with your child (in a ziploc bag WITH their name on it please) they will have the opportunity to buy books. You may also visit the book fair before or after school with your child Tuesday to Friday if you wish.
Photos were sent home on Friday, instructions are on the proof sheet if you wish to purchase and should you require a retake or a sibling photo the information for that was also included in your Friday mailbag. Retake/sibling photo day will be Thursday, October 24 but forms need to be completed and sent in to your teacher by October 21.
Parents of Senior Kindergarten children will be receiving a progress report in November, Junior Kindergartens parents will not; however, ALL parents will have the opportunity to schedule an interview to discuss their child. Interview times will be published online for you to choose and book after October 28. Your grade parents will forward you more information on that so be on the look out for those emails!
Next Friday will be our second Sharing Assembly, this month celebrating the character trait of responsibility - one you can easily work on at home by having your child be responsible for caring for their belongings...always putting their backpack, mailbag and library book in a certain spot, keeping toys and rooms tidy, dressing themselves etc etc. At school we will celebrate Siena and Patrick from the AM class and Noah from the PM class for displaying responsibility in the class on a regular basis at the Sharing Assembly on Friday, October 25 at 9:00 and 12:35.
This week -
Tuesday - AM Library/Book Fair
Wednesday - AM Computers
Thursday - PM Library/Book Fair, LKS Movie Night doors open at 5:45
Friday - Mystery Readers at 10:55 and 2:45, Sports Day - wear your jersey or a favourite jersey
Have a great week!
Ms. I.
