Thanks as always to our team of volunteers! Thank you for your help in the clothing and penny drives as well! We finished up with 11 1/2 lbs of pennies in the morning and 11 in the afternoon! Well done! The kids had a great time weighing and measuring them in so many ways!
We were able to clean up the school yard in between rain showers Friday morning to be part of the "Clean-up Toronto" campaign for Earth Day. The afternoon was rained out but we'll try again on Monday which is actually Earth Day!
This week the Tombola campaign begins for Springfest. Tombola is the most anticipated game at Springfest, every player is a winner and the kids love it! Your Parent Council will exchange every $5 of donation monies for a "tombola leaf" and the top 3 fund-raising classes will win prizes. Leaves will be displayed on the classroom doors and the monies collected will be used directly in the school. You can send cash or cheques made out to "LKS & Parent Council" in ANY denomination as the funds will be pooled this year - a change from previous years - so that the students in the class are working as a team to earn leaves for every $5 they collect. If you have questions e-mail Donna Chow
at donnachowtoy@gmail.com Donations for the baskets (both AM and PM) are coming in more regularly, thanks for your participation!
