Thank you as always to our parent volunteers for making our week run smoothly. Most students are back in class and full of stories about their holiday time, enjoying sharing their stories with each other.
We continue our sound work, doing "Hh" this past week and "Rr" next week. We're working on number sense in math - understanding how much each number represents as well as simple addition and subtraction using concrete objects and/or counting on our fingers. Junior Kindergartens will receive a report card this term, on February 11. Seniors do not get a written report this term.
Scholastic book order forms were sent home Friday for PM and Monday for AM, they are due back to school Friday, January 18 if you wish to purchase anything. Cheques should be made out to Scholastic Canada and I will process the order on the weekend.
Our January character trait is Teamwork and certificates will be awarded on Monday, January 21 at the Kindergarten Sharing Assembly. AM classes will share at 9:00 in the lunchroom and PM classes at 12:35 in the lunchroom. Certificates will be awarded to Annabelle and Max in the morning class and Isla in the afternoon class. Each of these students shows great effort to be helpful in the classroom, usually joining others to help tidy up activities at the end of the day or helping me ready the class for the next day. Congratulations, well done! Remember not to share this information with your child before the assembly.
