Week of February 19 - 23 Happy Family Day!

Thank you as always to our valued volunteers!  We did swap books and send a mailbag on Thursday instead of Friday but no poetry book was included, you will have lots to see this coming week!

The kids enjoyed a fantastic week with all of our special activities, in particular our Valentine/Friendship party Wednesday morning.  Thanks to our great team of moms Disa, Liz, Jeanette, Jen, Marianna, Jessica and Shannon the party was super fun and a good time was had by all.  Thank you so much ladies, well done!  Many thanks to everyone for sending treats for sharing.  The kids had a great time "mailing" them into their friends' loot bags and everyone sure enjoyed taking home that giant bag of treasures!

The 100th Day presentations are complete and we have a very cool collection of assorted things to enjoy in our "museum" (looking but not touching) that we will keep for one more week and send home to you on Friday.  Thanks!  Our room and hallway bulletin board is also full of great work which we will send home Friday as well.

The Dufflebag Theatre group was highly entertaining on Thursday morning.  We really enjoyed their version of "The Three Little Pigs" and the kids spent their outdoor time Thursday replaying "pigs and wolves" in the playground!  Thank you Parent Council and parent funds!

New Kindergarten registration will be this coming week - new JK and SK students new to LKS will be coming in for interviews/registration Tuesday and Wednesday so both Ms. Paldon and I will have a block of time out of the class to help in the office.  If you have friends or neighbors in our school area with JK (turning 4 by December) or SK children (turning 5 by December) who plan on attending LKS please encourage them to early register as it helps us make balanced classes and not have to reorganize when we are surprised by new registers in September and the numbers go too high!  On the other hand, if you are relocating or plan on moving your child from LKS we would love to have that information as again, it helps make balanced classes.  Thank you!

Our February Sharing Assembly will be this coming Friday to recognize the character trait of fairness.  While the kids can get hung up on the "that's not fair" mentality, we encourage the beginning of an awareness that "fair is not always equal and equal is not always fair" in many situations - just as you would have to at home for instance with bedtimes among different aged siblings or screen time when homework or sickness throws a wrench into well laid routines.  We celebrate Dylan and Mateo for their development and understanding.  Our Mateo will be away this week so we congratulate him and will recognize him at the March assembly.  Well done boys!

The week looks like this:
Monday - Family Day, enjoy and recharge with your loved ones!
Tuesday - Day 4 LIB/IT PM, Gym PM
Wednesday - Day 5 LIB/IT AM, Mystery Reader PM
Thursday
Friday - Sharing Assembly 9:00, Music, Mystery Reader AM, Pizza Lunch, Gym PM
Have a wonderful week!
Ms. I.
