Thank you as always to our valued volunteers! Be sure to read and respond to your grade parent email regarding our Stonegate Community Centre donation basket. This is a wonderful tradition at LKS and the receiving families are so very grateful for everything we are lucky enough to be able to provide. Let's share the love and good feelings of the Christmas season! Our family includes a mother and her two boys, ages 9 and 15. Please read the list of suggested items ( the Stonegate Centre helps put this list together to make the giving easy and to maximize use of gifts given. Some families are not in stable home situations and gifts we may think they would enjoy would not be useful at all.) Last day for sending in donations is Monday, December 14. Thank you!
The small mailbag readers will come home this week Tuesday and Friday as usual BUT not the following week. ALL little readers should be returned for check in on Tuesday, December 15. The program will resume in January.
Please be sure you have sent in your child's small, clean glass jar and patterned sock for our craft party next week! We have lots of pop tabs but still need quite a few socks and jars. The party is Wednesday, December 16, in the morning.
Next Tuesday, December 15, will be our Sharing Assembly. The children are asked TO WEAR A HOLIDAY HAT of some kind to add to the fun! Reindeer antlers, Santa hats, elf hats, whatever you have! This month we celebrate the character traits of kindness and caring. We have many wonderful students who exhibit these traits each and every day but will congratulate in particular three awesome juniors who we are lucky to have in our class - well done Josie, Everett and Tabitha!
Many thanks to those able to support the library book fair, Scholastic gifts the library with a percentage of purchases in books, so everyone wins! There will be another book fair in the spring.
